pushed aside
like a limp rag doll
you excitedly rush
to play with your new little toy
it's shiny and new
and I am old and worn
you have no interest
in something that's always been there
someone who held you
when the tears flowed
your dearest confidant
when nobody else
lent you an ear
one day you'll seek me out
craving the solace you need
yet no matter how hard
you search for it
you'll not find any comfort here
for you pushed me aside
